– The first Aunt Sarah's was established in Glen Allen, VA, at 9010 Brook Road, by John and Theresa Dankos.
1966
June
– The second Aunt Sarah's was established at 4205 West Broad Street in Richmond, VA, with seating capacity of 194.
1972
January
– The third and most northern store was established in Fredericksburg, VA, with seating for 190 plus a separate banquet room with 35 seats.
February – 2126 Willis Road opened its door, with seating capacity of 225, including a banquet room.
1973
January
– Carmel Church, VA was established with seating capacity of 180 plus a separate banquet room, with total seating capacity of 225.
1983
September
– The Ashland, VA location opened at Route 54 and 1-95, with seating capacity of 120.
1986
January
– 403 E. Washington Street opened its doors in Petersburg, VA, with seating capacity of 108.
August – 7927 W. Broad Street was established as one of the largest Aunt Sarah's without a separate banquet room, with seating capacity of 204.
1988January – The 8219 Midlothian Turnpike location opened its doors, with seating capacity of 198 and extended hours on weekends.
April – 1615 Emmet Street in Charlottesville, VA was established, with seating capacity of 157.
July – 5100 S. Laburnum Avenue opened near the RIC Airport, with seating capacity of 177.
1990September – A second Fredericksburg Aunt Sarah's opened at 5426 Jefferson Davis Highway in Massaponax, with seating capacity of 168.
1993
June
– Dankos Enterprises established its manager training store at the Glen Allen Restaurant.

1995

  1. May – The Lexington, VA location, seating 130, opened in this historic town in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

June – The Wilson, NC location becomes the second franchise restaurant in North Carolina.
July – The Lynchburg, VA location opened, seating 150.

1996

  1. May – A second location in Charlottesville opened on Pantop Mountain with seating capacity of 162, plus a separate banquet room with seating for 150.
  2. February – The Airport location opened at 5500 Williamsburg Road, with approximate seating of 135.

2000

December – “Aunt Sarah’s Restaurant & Café” opened on Hull Street near Woodlake, with seating capacity of 179.
2002
March 12 –
Glenn Dankos formed his own company, Aunt Sarah’s, LLC, and purchased Aunt Sarah’s operations from Dankos Enterprises, Inc.

2008
Angel Hospitality franchises the Carmel Church and Glen Allen location
2009
Metro Restaurant Group, LLC franchises the Broad Street location
2010
